Competitive Games : Good or Bad ?

We all know of famous Competitive Video games . I’m Sure we all have heard the name of Valorant , Counter Strike , Rainbow Six Siege etc. These are some of the famous competitive games at the moment . However , a question arises in our hearts : Are these game good or bad ?

From my experience , it completely depends on each individuals . For me , competitive games were good . It helped me in my life a lot . For instance , I found my best friends through these games . Some might argue that , “Good“ students/people don’t play games that much , so , its impossible for me to find good friends there . But that wasn’t the case for me . Those I found through the games turned out to be one of the best of people . Whether it was in terms of study or mannerisms . It didn’t just help me to make friends but It also helped me to overcome some other aspects of life . It helped me to push away my sadness and anxiety , even it was for a little while . It also gave me some of fun moments in my life . I fooled around with my friends a lot in the world of games , which undoubtedly was super fun . We made super weird strategies , killed our own team by accident , used abilities to troll our friends . It was super fun.

However , There’s also a dark side , which is addiction . These games sometimes can become super addictive . People can spend hours of their life playing games . Their behavior also changes with the strengthening of the addiction . Some rage over losing just a single game , Some break their keyboards and monitors when having a losing streak , Some often become super sad because they didn’t rank up . There are more addictive mmo - rpg type games . There are also MOBA games like Dota , League of Legends , which are super addictive (Sorry Dota , LoL players) . The variety of items , skills , characters makes these game super interesting . There are thousands of strategies , team combos . These games put your brain and reactions to the test , so it gets more addictive slowly but surely .

Competitive games are a great way of having fun . But we must keep it within a certain boundary so it doesn’t become an addiction . It should always be a source of pleasure , not a source of grief . It should bring contentment to life , not sorrow and agony .
